Jovial Gluten Free Pasta & Cookbook Giveaway

Pasta is the number one favorite food in the world. Considering the number of questions I receive about my favorite brand of gluten-free pasta, that’s not surprising. That’s why, in The Big Book of Gluten Free Cooking (Rockridge, Aug. 2018), I dedicate an entire chapter to this versatile food! And believe me, between cooking for my family and developing recipes, I’m pretty sure I’ve tried every brand of gluten-free pasta on the market.

That’s how I learned that while some brands are fine for boiling in the traditional manner, that doesn’t mean they will work in all cooking applications. For recipes in my cookbook, I needed a more versatile product.

That’s why Jovial Foods Gluten Free Pasta is the only choice for me. For the sake of transparency, I want you to know that Jovial isn’t paying me to say this. But I take it a step further in dishes like All-in-One Chicken Tetrazzini and Cheesy Hummus Filled Manicotti where I use dry pasta in an oven-baked one-dish preparation. And if that’s not out there enough for you, I even pressure cook the pasta in Pressure Cooker Vegan Mac ‘n Cheese!

    I haven’t heard of Jovial, but if you can use it in so many versatile dishes, it sounds fantastic! Do they have lasagna noodles? Lasagna is the one dish I truly miss.

    I generally use Tinkyada- a rice based pasta, and it does fairly well, but you couldn’t say it is much like the “real” thing. It is good, but different.
    I have tried some black bean pasta, I believe it was the Ancient Grains brand, with disastrous results when trying to reheat a shrimp alfredo! Let’s just say I could probably have used it as spackle.

    So I really don’t make pasta very often at all anymore!

    Can’t wait for Aug 30, when Amazon says my hard copy of the book will be in my hands!

      Oh, Nicki! You must must try Jovial if you can get it. I tested them ALL and it’s by far the best. I have used the brands you mention, but no, they do not taste like real pasta. I promise you will not be able to tell Jovial GF pasta from traditional high-quality product. The owners are Italian and the products are crafted in Italy. I’m not sure if you know that some of our premier research on celiac disease hails from Italy, but the Italians are VERY celiac-aware and they do an exceptional job at creating delicious GF foods! I’m so excited for the book to get into your hands!! xoxo
